PATRICE EVRA last night threatened to break Cristiano Ronaldo's legs - because he is sick of his Manchester United team-mate taking the mickey.
Ronaldo has been outstanding this season, took his goals tally to 20 in the 7-1 rout of Roma and is favourite to be Footballer of the Year.
Evra also scored against the Italians and is in awe of Ronaldo's ability - but not of being made to look a fool by him.


"Before every training session I tell Ronaldo that if he nutmegs me, I'll break his leg and rip his shirt to pieces," said Evra (above). "I don't want to have him taking the mickey out of me throughout the week.
"The tricks he pulls off are just too good. Once you've seen him do them, you don't want to take him on any more."

Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo has been lavished with the highest praise following his display in the demolition of Roma, with team-mate Patrice Evra claiming the Portuguese can be "better than Pele or Maradona".

Ronaldo scored twice in the amazing 7-1 destruction of Roma at Old Trafford as he put in yet another scintillating performance to which the Italians rarely had an answer.

The 22-year-old is set to sweep the board in the player-of-the-year polls and Evra, who also found the back of the net on Tuesday, believes he can go on to become one of the game's all-time greats.

"Cristiano can do the same job as Pele or [Diego] Maradona or [George] Best," Evra said. "He can be like them. The great thing about him, he does not do it just in training, he does it on the pitch. And he does not do it for himself, he does it for the team, for the fans and for the winning of the game."

Ronaldo's sparkling form has helped United into the semi-finals of both the FA Cup and the Champions League, and the Red Devils are still on course for an unprecedented second treble as they stand three points clear at the top of the Premiership.

But Evra refuses to get carried away with thoughts of such success and remains focused on the job in hand.

The France international said: "If we win nothing, people will say, 'well, United played good football', but to me that is not enough. It we win nothing it will have been a bad season. We must win one trophy or two. Three would be unbelievable, but anything is possible."

"When everything is going well is when things can become dangerous," Evra told L'Equipe. "The end of the season can be brilliant or like a bad dream for us. In football only trophies count.

"I've already experienced [a title run-in like this] with Monaco in 2004. We had a 10-point lead on Lyon in January and we qualified for the final of the Champions League. By the end, we had won nothing. I know at what point things go wrong. I don't want to re-live that."

Meanwhile, the rumours linking Ronaldo to a move away from Old Trafford look set to continue, with the Guardian reporting that Real Madrid are set to table a £54 million offer to lure him to the Spanish capital.

The newspaper reported that 'Real Madrid have stepped up their attempt to sign [Ronaldo] by meeting his agent and agreeing a course of action that directors at the Bernabeu believe will end with the Portugal winger becoming their latest galáctico'.

Ronaldo has recently reiterated his desire to remain at United, but has not ruled out the possibility of playing in Spain at some stage of his career.

Rua Augusta (Augusta street) is located in one of the busiest quarters of Lisbon. Closed to traffic, this pedestrianised street has all sorts of shops for all sorts of tastes, flower peddlars, hot chestnuts sellers, street cafés, independent street Artists like the "statue man" or the familiar harmonica player and many, many more.This street has on both extremes two magnificent squares: the Rossio Square and the Commerce Square. Near the arch that gives way to the Commerce Street you will find many peddlers with all sorts of things to sell from jewellery to shoes to handbags, neck-scarfs to temporary tattoos... anything... just name it!Another curious thing in this area is the name of the streets that run parallel to Rua Augusta. They all come from the occupations or the materials once existent and worked on here: Rua dos Sapateiros (shoemakers), Rua da Prata (silver), Rua do Ouro (gold), etc.
The old architectural style, originally from the reconstruction of Lisbon made by Marquês do Pombal after the 1755 earthquake, is still intact, so you can see many of the buildings as they originally were. You're going to love this street!

Everybodyis doodling, nobody is listening to the teacher. The work is difficult. Nehali's drawing flowers and writing her lover's name at the back of her maths book while anisha, who doesn't know whats going on, finishes the large scale picture she is drawing on the front of neelam's maths book!!!

nehali is really sad because she doesn't want to leave bruno (soft toy which is a dog), the birthday present which she bought for sarita!!! and stupid neelam just wrote BOOBLESS on the calculator because she was shown the same thing by some one else. nehali thinks she can't live without bruno, its too nice to leave, she needs a hug and doesn't want to leave it.
nehali has a really mad headache, she can't stand headaches, she feels that something is moving in her skull when she has a headache.
in science class nehali did a practical, her partner who she has to work with is gay, he doesn't care about anything and he dropped the oil which they were doing the practical on, all over the place, can he get any gayer???

we're in the library. anisha's thinking about ronaldo and nehali's thinking about a miss call. the boys have hijaked all the MATCH magazines - anisha wanted to see some pictures of ronaldo. the place doesn't sound like a library, and nehali's annoyed again as she's trying to do her home work.

anisha'a thinking- science is not that bad after all, all we are doing is marking home work- grrr they just got some more. now its time to do some revision, practice papers, anisha's all worried as shes forgotten all shes learnt and doesn't remember anything!!!

so here goes... this is something my close friend nehali wrote in ICT class

I am very annoyed because I need to do a lot of homework; personally I believe that I am going to kill Mr Fox because he gave us too much homework and I had to do it until 10 o clock which was annoying because it is tiring because I go to sleep at 8.30.
My name is Nehali I am very annoying most of the time and annoy people when I am annoyed myself and Anisha talking about cristiano ronaldo is ok but sometimes she goes too far, she once told me what colour boxers he was wearing. When I was writing this she said that he wears pants and not boxers, WHERE ON EARTH DOES SHE END UP LOOKING!
We both ended up laughing
