this is a photograph of a scene in lisbon. portugal has been in the news lately for the abortion vote. before the vote, abortion was illegal in portugal in many of the situations it would have been legal in other countries. the results of the vote were yes to abortion however officials say people do not want to kill a young life but make the millions of illegal abortions performed in backstreets stop and make these abortions available in hospitals nationwide. the government/parliament will now vote and the decision will be taken there after. every year portugal has 50,ooo less births than needed and the counrty is mostly catholic and this is why the subject has taken so long to be cleared and discesed in this way
